SLJ || Cicadas Do Math

My timeline in the section below shows my prediction of how my life might be like this. So it starts from when I am 17 working by 17x timestables. So, I don't really know what will happen in the future but this is my prediction.

Theses are only my main things I want to do at these ages but I want to do many more like jump of a cliff    { with supervision of course }.

I don't want to grow up that fast. I want to enjoy my childhood because you are only a child once, when your an adult you won't have the comfort of being a child so I won't rush to grow.

Thank you,

Kind Regards, Alilia (>‿◠)✌ stay safe

SLJ || Spread the word - step it up

 Kia Ora koutou katoa everyone!

This task was about seeing who our top 5 favorite blogs. I have chosen some from Ruapotaka school and Glen Taylor. There are hyperlinks to travel to their blogs.

I chose my fifth favorite Renei@ Ruapotaka School because I loved her blog post about her wordle. Her wordle had descriptive words that really spoke her personality. I can tell that she in an amazing person in general.

In 4th favorite, I picked Catherine @ Glen Taylor because of of her informative task descriptions, overall  a really great personality.

Next, we have Limiteiti @ Tamaki College, *does she count even though she is at secondary school? I am not sure. I like the way she has very creative titles that attract the crowd. Her writing is very amazing when she has great starts of the sentences.

In my opinion, my second favorite blog has to be my sister's blog. Sunipa @ Ruapotaka School. I like her writing. I like how she puts hyperlinks for the viewers to play or see what she has been learning.

Now my #1 favorite is Alamoni @ Tamaki College - also from Tamaki college and he's also one of my elder brothers. Competing in the summer learning journey is hard but he managed. I love his Summer Learning Journey Blog posts.

Thank you everyone - Have a great day

Kind Regards, Alilia (>‿◠)✌ stay safe

SLJ || E hia nga mea?

Kia Ora everyone, Everyone feeling good, hope so (>‿◠)

E Hia Nga Mea - How many things?

Are you familiar with this sentence?

Well, today I did an activity based on summer. As far as summer goes I am loving it. We had to make a poster to ask people how many _____ are there. *the objects are involved with summer, for e.g. - ice cream = eat in summer, cold water = drink for hydration.

Overall, I think I did an okay job of creating it but it could be improved. I actually made one before last year ( *not from SLJ though ) but I didn't want to use it again.

I picked ice cream  because I think it is the most common of foods to eat in summer, the sun is brighter than ever and hotter than ever, what could be better than a desert.

I picked books because I love reading Amulet books by Kazu Kibuishi.

Water is for the obvious reasons, to keep hydrated and stay nice and cool.

Sandals- because I also have seen frequently a lot of people wearing these in summer because it lets more air come to your feet.

Shades - I am pretty sure that these can work to protect your eyes from the brightness and heat *also counts as a trend of fashion.

Strawberries - are very delicious at all times but I enjoy to have a blend of both sourness and a hint of sweetness in nice pieces of fruit.

Watermelon - Refreshing and juicy, Watermelon can be a great companion in this weather. I personally like having it in otai, a traditional Tongan drink/desert.

Bananas- Well this one, I am not sure that it is common but I like making smoothies so if you are a smoothie lover like me you should try making a banana berry smoothie.

Thank you everyone, Have a great day and Merry Christmas!

SLJ || Spread the word

 Kia Ora whanau !!!!

Today, I was like taking about half an hour working on this slide deck because we have another challenge!

For this task we had to spread the word ; meaning promoting students's blog posts for you and everyone to check out. These are mainly from my school but I love a lot of posts from other schools for example Catherine from Glen taylor * she comes to my church as well.  I think she is great.

Homemade Boba

Yesterday, my family made mango boba and mango milk. We had it for a beverage after our desert. We also made otai but that is a story for another time. Man, it kind of tasted nice. I just think I am not a mango boba type { oh, by the way boba is what is in the drink not the drink itself }. I think I like the brown sugar boba better, though I do like mango in general just not as boba.

Have a great day everyone (>‿◠)✌    - Alilia_

Using information from the web - || Cybersmart ||

Task Description:  For this task we had to find key information from the internet and use our own words to talk about that category. We have to learn to use our own words, plagiarism can occur in the future for when you go to university for example. You can not copy a person's paragraphs but you can get key ideas and use your own vocabulary to make your unique writing.

Here is my slideshow about it - Thank you (>‿◠)✌

Checking Authenticity / Evaluate online information - Cybersmart

My Second to Last B.O.T.W 2021 ๐Ÿ˜ฟ

My second to last B.O.T.W for 2021, I have not done B.O.T.W in 3 weeks but now I have my spare time do it.                                                                                                                                                                                                  I created this series about a month ago that I am determined to last until I graduate from primary to college. So this is when I comment on a student's blog that I feel has done outstanding work for you who don't know. I like to give back to the community of young people. I admire their work and like when people have bravery to do something. For example, something out of your comfort zone like present to a class whether your own or another and I like when they use very sophisticating language in blog posts { complexity of language and vocab }.  I actually saw that throughout this series there has only been females but today I have a male, I did not want to be a sexist so here it is. So what are we waiting for, Let's GO!!!

So the Blogger of the week is { pause for effect๐Ÿ˜ถ } ...
                                                         Is " Iosefo@Ruapotaka School "
I think he is a pretty good writer and is good at blogging. He is a year 7 at Ruapotaka School also the same school I attend to. A prefect, a half Intermediate student {Two years above me}, and an overall good person.  Here are the comments.

Have a great day!!!๐Ÿ˜†

"We are different but the same ...." - Different cultures, same species

It has been over two years since so many lives were taken on the Mosque attack. We must make an effort to remember the lesson it taught us because it is very important ; meaning that we should celebrate diversity and our differences.

If we can not do that then what is the point in believing we can work together as people everyday. Showing our differences make us unique.

The world would be so bland if we were the same showing similarity all the time. We should all be thanking differences because it allows us to see another's perspective beside your own. We should be showing uniqueness and creativity everyday.

For the people that have passed into a new life I wish you the best and may you always rest in peace in our hearts.

Replying to comments

                              Replying to Comments๐Ÿ˜†

Kia Ora koutou katoa everyone, today I was just going to cook me something for dinner but decided to do a blog post. I like commenting  to other blogs but something I should do more a should be replying to comments. I mostly do not focus on it
maybe because I am preparing another posts or I forget to check them. Here are some replies I have written. Sorry if I have not answered any questions or help on my blog but now I am determined to do it more.

Replying to comments is good. So that your conversation with a person continues.

I was actually so excited when I saw that a person apart of transum commented on my transum blog post, I was really happy.

{ Thank you for reading this blog post, I hope you enjoyed it.  It is your choice if you want to comment down below for if you have any questions or help๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜†}

I want to make my parents proud and study my brain off. I know it is going to be hard work but I am willing to do a lot for a courier path and to make myself proud and family. Here are my "Lifelong Goals".

Search it Up - Cybersmart #28

Fakalofa lahi atu everyone,  Did you know that I finished all my homework. It's good because well, I was pretty behind a few weeks ago because i missed meetings for a loved one that passed away. I was glad I got to go to her ceremony.

Now that I'm up to date of my homework, I feel bored. I mean there is planing for an assembly, but I want to plan at my meetings with peers. I decided to spare ten minutes doing a cybersmart challenge. I think I did one a couple of days ago but here is a new one.

This was about searching up a sentence of some sort properly on google [ it even shows tips ]. So when I was thinking about this challenge, I was thinking how I normally and usually do it. I do it really wrong!!!

Well, yes. I most of the time just write keywords that make no sense. I think I sometimes even use slang at points [ mostly when I am lazy to type something up ].

[ Here it is, I hope you like it. Have a great day. ๐Ÿ˜† ]

Te Reo Maori Challenge

Kia Ora Koutou katoa, I woke up this morning and forgot that I had to do a task that my deputy principal assigned to us. I actually weren't at the meeting when she announced that because I had to do something with my fam [whanau] but I did get a word from my teacher. Here is my presentation. The task was to present this to room 5 which is our little juniors to learn about maraes since they did not get the chance to go to the marae due to the pandemic lockdown. So I took the opportunity this morning with my spare time before google meets to make a presentation for them. I would happy to present this to them if it helps with research.

Image Attribution - Google Draw

                                                                    ~ Cybersmart ~

Task Description :

So for this task we were challenged by one of our cybersmart teachers to trace and create our own picture from the original. This task felt very hard but really it was not that hard.

I think I'm used to doing easier things in cybersmart that is why. I used the tool explore in Google draw. I think that it is probably good to learn for life's essentials.

We have to prepare for college, uni [ university, My life long goal is to go to Auckland Med school ] and future experiences. We can not claim a piece of writing, art and excetra to be ours, it is called copyright. Here are the credits

In this drawing, I really wanted to do something simple so I did a cute cat, my prototype does not look as cute as it really is though. I mean, I tried my best.

# For students my age and above, I challenge you to try this activity and give it  shot. You'll probably need to post it on your blog if possible so that I can see that you have done it and your teachers and others can.

Math Session / With Mrs Allan

                                                                                                            j
                                                ~ Math Session ~

So today, in the afternoon at 1:00pm we were doing magic squares. The activities that were included in this session were from transum. We practiced using "Magic square" and "Area Wall puzzles ".

Here are some images of when I had finished the puzzle and completed it correctly. I had some times that I got confused but as we progressed more into the session I learnt so much. The sum of the numbers that I had in all 3 levels were 34 so it was easier to figure out when I had the method and knew it clearly.

So when I was doing the first level there were clues to help me, actually all the levels had clues. In the first level, one row was complete so we knew what the sum would be, 34. So we started to look at the corners and added the numbers. With the remaining gaps I used the same method and got the same result.

Math can be mysterious but fun. It comes to say that just because you do not know how to do it at first you should never give up, there will always be people to help. I am glad that I joined the sessions as soon as I could because they really help. I have  improved a lot. I can not wait for the near future sessions.

I also did the are walls activity on transum. Here is an image of level 1 that I did. The objective was to find where to fill in the amount of numbers it is accounted for but the shape has to be a rectangle.

{Thank you for listening to my writing, Have a great day!!!}

Late night Dinner

                                                           _My late Night Dinner_

So last night, the time was 9:00pm,

I had budak noodles { Korean Spicy Noodles } and they were HOTT!!!๐Ÿ˜ฐ๐Ÿ˜ฐ My brother enjoyed it and handled it like a man while I was crying ๐Ÿ˜ญ my life out. After just some drops of the spice I already had a hot tongue. My sister felt the burn as well. I think my brother succeeded because he is used to spicy. I took the pain though. I used chopsticks to make the experience more better. My sister added an egg on hers and sesame seeds. She did not put that much sauce { half of it }.

~ W r i t i n g ~ :

This week I enjoyed talking to my peers and my teachers.

I enjoyed learning about Diwali and what is it's purpose. I found a variety of facts that I am very interested in. I f you want to further more see facts about Diwali my Diwali based slideshow post is beneath.

Next is the task I mostly enjoyed was reading books. I read them by physically touching them because I like to do it the old fashion way instead of online but yes I will be probably be reading and taking notes about nonfiction discovery books on epic reading.

I could improve by doing some more sketching and drawing because I personally think that I am not very good at drawing people and bodies [ I am willing to do that while we are in lockdown and get more into water painting because we have now got spare hours in our days ].

"Festival of Lights!"

Happy Diwali everyone, I hope you are having a great day. I love celebrating cultural celebrations. We have all been trying to keep in our bubbles and still celebrate these memorable days. I took joy and happiness while making this presentation, I love to learn about cultural myths [ I believe they are true ].
