Math Study Notes // Part 1

 Math Notes for 2022 -

Binary numbers:

Remember that the binary numeral system is a way to write numbers using only two digits: 0 and 1. As there are only two options, they can only represent two different digits, 0 and 1. This is called the binary number system, or base two. ("Bi" means two.) All the numbers are constructed from the two digits 0 and 1.

Factors - A smaller whole number that can be multipled by another whole number.

Prime Number - A number that can only be divided by itself and 1

*by the way, 1 does not count as a prime or composite number

Multiples - The result of one number being multipled by another

E.g. 8 times tables || 8 x 6 = 48 || 8 x 7 = 56 || 8 x 8 = 64

Order of Operation -
B rackets
E xponents
D ivision
M ultiplication
A ddition
S ubtraction

Golden Ratio Notes - Extra

The golden ratio (symbol is the Greek letter "phi" shown at left) is a special number approximately equal to 1.618
It appears many times in geometry, art, architecture and other areas.
Many buildings and artworks have the Golden Ratio in them, such as the Parthenon in Greece, but it is not really known if it was designed that way.
The Golden Ratio is equal to:  1.618

Math Study Notes

Description:
These are some study notes for maths. When doing maths, I like to use these as help when I am trying to remember something like the strategy or technique.

Factors
Meaning = Factors are what number times another number equal to the answer. E.g:
24 = what 2 numbers multiplied equals to the equation but in this case 24. Factors like 2 and 12 equals to 24 because...     2x12=24

The factors:
21 = 7, 3, 1, 21
48 = 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 48
16 = 1, 2, 4, 8
24 = 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12

Prime Numbers:
Meaning = Prime numbers are  numbers  that are divisible only by itself and 1

Prime numbers = 2, 3, 5, 7, 11

-------------------

Order of operation =
B brackets
E exponents
D division
M multiplication
A addition
S subtraction

HCF = the highest number that can be divided exactly into each of two or more numbers.

LCM = the lowest quantity that is a multiple of two or more given numbers e.g. 12 is the lowest common multiple of 2, 3, and 4

Protec Math test

Kia Ora, talofa and Malo leilei to everyone. Today in the maths session with Mrs Allan, we did the protec maths test from 6 to 8. The first test was not as threatening as the stage 8, it got a bit more harder. I recognized the place value after reflecting on it for a bit. The rest was just "HCF and LCM". Here is the certificate.

MATH SESSION

 Kia Ora everyone, today I was in the Math Session with Mrs Allan and the other students. In the meeting there was me, DJ, foli ,Mrs Allan, Pita, Renei, sonny and more. We were still working on the year 10 algebra but then we moved onto playing some kahoots after we understood it. I came in first place in the first one, the topic was finding out algebraic equations. The second kahoot was about bidmas. I came in third place. I enjoyed every second of it.

MATH

 Kia Orana and talofa lava. Today I tried out the game on transum named Factorizing which is all about algebra. We had to try if we could do level 7 but I made it to level 9. I was fun. I really enjoy algebra and could not wait to do more.

THANK YOU, Alilia

TROPHIES UPDATE.

Talofa lava everyone, 218!!!

Yes, I have reached over 200 trophies with my sister. I achieved 218 trophies because my sister taught me about a lot of algebra and I taught her about coordinates. I was pleased that she got 250 trophies and proud. I am trying to catch up to here number. Here is the a photo of the trophies.

THANK YOU, Alilia

MATH SESSION 2

 Malo leilei everyone, today we had a math session. We were joined by some unexpected guests as in students from room 7. There was a lot of company. We were learning about fast factors. It is a game on transum which is fun to learn timetables at any time. Here is my result for 9x timetables, I did good on my 2x,3x,4x,5x,6x,7x,9x,10x,11x, but sadly not my 8x and 12x. My time is 27 seconds or above. Thank you for reading my writing!!!

MATH SESSION: Year,5,6,7 and 8

 Kia Ora and talofa everyone, today we tried doing some bid-mas.

I got the hang of it after doing 2 levels and then I repeated the levels again to make sure I have learnt the ability to do it. Each day we are learning something new whether it is algebra or numeracy. It is always exciting learning new things. As we continued with the session, we were talking about how many transum trophies we each all had. Well, that is all.
Thank you for reading my writing.

Transum - Particular Pipes

Kia Ora, today we had a session with Mrs Allan. It was all about percentages. So my sibling and sister gave me the idea to practice how to do percentages so I can in hence that capability of doing it for the upcoming year. It is fun to learn about something that I will only need to have capability in  a year so that is incredible.

It is so fun connecting with my sister when she helps me and I help her.  To think really that lock down is really that bad and humid because it is is but there are sections of this lock down I will cherish. The work that I did explains to understand percentages. I t is really important because as you grow older it will help make it better and way more easier in life.

So, I did all the puzzles that I saw and I first did not know about it clearly but as I went further I understood it and actually thought it was easy. Here is an image below that I had took because of my great achievement. How I did my first question was just seeing if it was an even number and my options above it.

My choice selections were 100%, 33.3%, 50%,  25%,  20%,  and last of all 10%. I had to use 4 pieces so I started with small numbers and had to use my division skills. I did 20+20+20+ 60 and needed a big number that had to be 50% because there was the number 50 left in the total to make my answer.

THANK YOU FOR READING MY WRITING!!!

Transum - UPDATE

 Kia Orana everyone, today I tried to get over 20 trophies on Transum and I achieved it!

I have been trying algebra and stable scales. I even went through a workshop at 9am with Mrs Allan about the strategy we would use. Here is the trophies I have achieved.
