MATH SESSION: Year,5,6,7 and 8

Kia Ora and talofa everyone, today we tried doing some bid-mas.

I got the hang of it after doing 2 levels and then I repeated the levels again to make sure I have learnt the ability to do it. Each day we are learning something new whether it is algebra or numeracy. It is always exciting learning new things. As we continued with the session, we were talking about how many transum trophies we each all had. Well, that is all.
Thank you for reading my writing.

WRITING - PERSUASIVE PIECE

Kia Orana everyone, today I made a little piece of writing about why we should learn abut more cultures  and celebrate when it is their day. Here it is.

PURPOSE: To persuade

AUDIENCE: Peers

WALT: Use persuasive/emotive language

CONTEXT: What if we could celebrate all religious or other celebrations

STORY:

Celebrations, What are celebrations?

Well,to start, they are joyous celebrations and reflective celebrations.

How come we do not have these at school. It will help in writing to talk about it and would it be pleasing to only celebrate some cultures instead of most of them. It should only be a day to learn about it. If we had a choice would you pick our education or not. and Eid

Eid is a religious festival and is for spiritual reflection. It is at the end of the 10th lunar month. Worldwide, Muslim people celebrate it as a time to be gathered as a family or group. They start with morning prayers and gifting people. Eid is the time when they put on their finest costumes like dresses and suits.

Diwali

It originated in India , it is a worldwide celebration for hindu people from October till November. People Decorate pathways with patterns called rangoli. They are beautiful pathways, the patterns are amazing. It is known to be called “the light festival”.

These are the countries that celebrate these wondrous celebrations. Have you ever celebrated them? Well,no but we could start. I hope you lean into this idea. It is your choice.

Thanks for reading my Writing!!!

Transum - Particular Pipes

Kia Ora, today we had a session with Mrs Allan. It was all about percentages. So my sibling and sister gave me the idea to practice how to do percentages so I can in hence that capability of doing it for the upcoming year. It is fun to learn about something that I will only need to have capability in  a year so that is incredible.

It is so fun connecting with my sister when she helps me and I help her.  To think really that lock down is really that bad and humid because it is is but there are sections of this lock down I will cherish. The work that I did explains to understand percentages. I t is really important because as you grow older it will help make it better and way more easier in life.

So, I did all the puzzles that I saw and I first did not know about it clearly but as I went further I understood it and actually thought it was easy. Here is an image below that I had took because of my great achievement. How I did my first question was just seeing if it was an even number and my options above it.

My choice selections were 100%, 33.3%, 50%,  25%,  20%,  and last of all 10%. I had to use 4 pieces so I started with small numbers and had to use my division skills. I did 20+20+20+ 60 and needed a big number that had to be 50% because there was the number 50 left in the total to make my answer.

THANK YOU FOR READING MY WRITING!!!

FATHER"S DAY

Kia Ora koutou,
Happy father's day to every special man in the world, we appreciate you.  Also the grandfathers, uncles and any male.

MAKING DONUTS !!!

Talofa lava and bula vinaka,
freezing temperature, craving for something hot. steamy and delicious.
   DONUTS!
They were fried and made in no time.
They tasted delicious when I made a nice glaze for it.
Here is what I did

8 cups of plain flour, plus 2 cups extra for kneading
3 cups of warm water
2 1/2 tablespoons of active dry yeast (or 3 sachets)
1 cup of warm milk
2 cups of sugar
1/3 cup of oil (or melted butter)
3 eggs

I firstly whisked the yeast & warm water together in a medium bowl, set aside for 5 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl, I gently combined 8 cups of flour with the sugar, make a well.
I then whisked milk, oil & eggs into yeast mixture then pour into the flour/sugar bowl. Using my left hand I mixed the ingredients together, until the dough is smooth. "The mixture will be quite sticky"  is what I thought when I made it and my theory was correct. I Covered & left it to rise until it doubled in size ( 1-1 ½ hours).
I transfer the dough onto floured bench, to knead the dough, adding flour as I went  until the dough began  to have had sufficient flour added that it is less sticky, and more manageable. Then I broke  off 40 chunks of dough to make each doughnut. I kneaded each dough into a ball & set aside.
Heat oil in a large pot. I had to test oil with a small piece of dough (should rise & brown lightly within seconds).

To make the donuts I , pierced a hole in the middle of the dough with my finger, then slightly stretched it out and span it around your finger to enlarge the hole to about 3 cm, then carefully lower the donuts into the hot oil, turning the donuts as you go. Fry for about 3 minutes or until golden brown & cooked through. Transfer onto a rack to drain and cool.

Lock Down Writing

Kia Ora koutou katoa, today I wrote about my theory about how Delta Variant started and how we try to stop it. Hope you enjoy this piece of writing!!!

Covid - 19, Delta Variant, What is the next one?
This continuous curse, Our people asking for an explanation about everything, it is all happening in accelerating time.  What is going to happen . . .
I ‘m afraid I think I understand why this has happened.
My  theory is that as we all know in our late 2020 covid - 19 struck like lightning to us  and it felt like a horrific nightmare. People losing their jobs . Luckily ,it ended after a long period of time. After all of it, everyone forgot to be cautious because even though the cases came down, that deadly disease was still out there but we did n't care . We thought we would never come across it again. Everyone started touching a lot of surfaces and gaining germs. That is how we created the delta Variant isn't it?!
107 cases still in contact. If I had to take the covid-19 vaccine I would be scared of going to the place's that require The Vaccines. we could all use A 2nd Chance for anything right but we should all  choose to erase the past of when we didn't care and do the  and do the exact opposite which is doing the right thing. The government is aware of what is creating this disease but hopefully in lock down the people will be safe.
Stay home to be safe!!!

Lock down FUN!!!

 Malo leilei everyone,

"Stay at home,  Be patient for when we find a solution to this disease" is all I hear. Firstly I want to say thank you for all the supporters in medical wise and most people of New Zealand that are staying in their own space because of this disease. Secondly, While I was at home I took the time and opportunity took something delicious and will suit a great meal. FETTUCCINE!!!!!!!

Yes, I took almost an hour and included effort into trying to make fettuccine for the fifth time. I mean after five times of making it, it will be easy right?

It was not  easy at all,but I tried my best in the end it was a success and my parents approved at it. I felt proud of myself, until . . . my sister criticized it and said I cooked more earlier than you.

Try it out yourself!

Remember to be safe and stay at home!

Ingredients for Fettuccine Recipe :

Kosher salt

1 lb. fettuccine

1/2 c. heavy cream

1/2 c. (1 stick) butter

1/2 c. freshly grated Parmesan, plus more for sprinkling

Freshly ground black pepper

2 tbsp. chopped parsley

I AM... - A Poem

I am  determined to be the best me possible and protective of my family.
I  wonder If I can reach my goal.
I hear every student voice, especially if they need help.
I want to become a successful surgeon that helps everyone in need of my help.
I am determined and protective

I actually try to become like my sister, a leader,
I feel like I could be better.
I am anxious about my education almost everyday.
I cry when I feel like I am not being heard, potentially when I was doing the poetry recital when I was doing the poem, I did it for black people and people who want to give up. Technically, I did it for me not room 4.
I am determined and protective.
I understand my parents.
I say that I will always try to be behaved and I will keep that promise.
I dream that I will be great in the future
I hope it becomes true.
I am determined, protective and many more!!!

Story About Eid

What is happening in the world?

Well a variety of things happen everywhere and there are some more serious than others but today I will be talking about something more cheerful happening  for Muslims. Hundreds of thousands of Muslim people celebrating a celebration called   Eid AL-Fitr .The definition of it is very cheerful,  Eid AL-Fitr means  ‘festival of the breaking of the fast’. It is celebrated because it is the end of Ramadan. Ramadan is when Muslim people ended their fasting of not eating for one month. It is for spiritual reflection, prayer and doing good deeds.Ramadan it is for reflection of your spiritual side  and for doing good deeds in the community or something that can make a good improvement in the world. As because I grew up learning from a religion that is  general to Muslims to me it is a very cheerful celebration.

What,where,when,how,why.

Task Description:
Room 4 had to write about one of the special events that are happening worldwide. My challenge was to create an informative piece of writing. HOPE you ENJOY!!!

SLJ: Nanogirl's Experiment 2

Kia Orana and warm greetings to everyone. Are you enjoying your summer?  I also did this one with my siblings. The items we used was a long piece of string,a plastic bottle, water and scissors. We cut the bottle into half then made holes in  it to put the string through and tied it at the top. We spinned it to see if the water would come out. It is all about air pressure. Here is the result. When I watched it I started laughing hard out.

Smart footprint

I think a smart footprint means you can't put private things on
your blog or the internet. You are not allowed to be somewhere online when you're not supposed to or where you're not supposed to be. Don’t share anything that is personal and private stuff about your family. Think first before publishing something on the internet or on your very own blog.
