SLJ || E hia nga mea?

Kia Ora everyone, Everyone feeling good, hope so (>‿◠)

E Hia Nga Mea - How many things?

Are you familiar with this sentence?

Well, today I did an activity based on summer. As far as summer goes I am loving it. We had to make a poster to ask people how many _____ are there. *the objects are involved with summer, for e.g. - ice cream = eat in summer, cold water = drink for hydration.

Overall, I think I did an okay job of creating it but it could be improved. I actually made one before last year ( *not from SLJ though ) but I didn't want to use it again.

I picked ice cream  because I think it is the most common of foods to eat in summer, the sun is brighter than ever and hotter than ever, what could be better than a desert.

I picked books because I love reading Amulet books by Kazu Kibuishi.

Water is for the obvious reasons, to keep hydrated and stay nice and cool.

Sandals- because I also have seen frequently a lot of people wearing these in summer because it lets more air come to your feet.

Shades - I am pretty sure that these can work to protect your eyes from the brightness and heat *also counts as a trend of fashion.

Strawberries - are very delicious at all times but I enjoy to have a blend of both sourness and a hint of sweetness in nice pieces of fruit.

Watermelon - Refreshing and juicy, Watermelon can be a great companion in this weather. I personally like having it in otai, a traditional Tongan drink/desert.

Bananas- Well this one, I am not sure that it is common but I like making smoothies so if you are a smoothie lover like me you should try making a banana berry smoothie.

Thank you everyone, Have a great day and Merry Christmas!

  1. Kia ora Alilia!

It’s Charlotte here from the SLJ team!

I’m feeling great, thanks for asking! How are you?

I was not familiar with this sentence, I learnt it because of the SLJ activity. I’m happy I know now!

Ka pai on creating another poster even though you had made one last year! How do you think it could be improved? On the task, it asks you to practice counting to 10 in Te Reo. On the poster you have created, you have asked the question, e hia ngā mea? Try answering that question yourself! For example, there are 3 books. You can reply to this comment with the answers so you can get the points for completing the activity!

You are so right about ice cream- it is the best thing to eat in raumati (summer)! What is your favourite flavour? Mine is cookies and cream!!

You chose great pictures and wrote the items in Te Reo superbly! Remember to just reply to this comment answering the question, e hia ngā mea! Then, I can put your points through!

    Meri Kirihimete, Alilia!

    Ngā mihi nui,
    Charlotte :)
