The meaning is that there might not be a tomorrow so enjoy today. Yesterday might be gone but today is here and we do not even know about tomorrow, what is going to happen, where is it going to happen. It is better to enjoy this lively day. In the movie he wanted to kill himself so I guess what the viewers were feeling is that he should just make this the highlight of his life since he really wanted to end it. I am glad that he did not because of shoko or shokou.
