SLJ: My Insect Art

I made an insect art work with my brother recently. We made the flying insect, a butterfly. The leaves represent the wings and the pedals are the decorations for the wings. My brother named it Todoroki which he got from his favorite anime show. That piece of decoration is a flower. We made it look like the butterfly is drinking nectar from the flower. I am very proud of the result.

  1. Tēnā koe Alilia, this is Elle from the Summer Learning Journey team.

Thank you for sharing the awesome insect art that you and your brother worked on together! I’m so happy to hear that you are proud of your butterfly, because you have both done a great job.

I really like that you have layered the wings by adding lots of differently coloured leaves, and that you’ve added decorations to them by adding pink flower petals!

I think it is very creative that you also added that Todoroki is drinking nectar from a flower. Have you ever seen a butterfly’s tongue before? They are quite funny to look at, because they are so curly and long!

Ka pai Alilia, and I look forward to seeing your future blog posts!

    Ngā mihi,
    Elle (SLJ)
